Special Melas are conducted coinciding with any special ceremony at this arts village. The special melas have known to attract artisans from all over the state and the country. What makes the specials melas even more attractive is the Music and Dance Festival being conducted by the state government.
All INDIA CRAFTS MELA - 2010
>Shilparamam is conducting All India Crafts Mela – 2010 from 15-12-2010 to 31-12-2010 in collaboration with Development Commissioners (Handlooms & Handicrafts) and National Jute Board of Govt. of India.
>This annual event is being conducted by Shilparamam for the 16th consecutive year to promote Handlooms & Handicrafts.
>The Crafts Mela is an effort for the upliftment of rural artisans to exhibit / sell their products to the visitors thus providing direct access to the customers.
>The Crafts Mela has got good response from the Artisans of all over the Country.
>Around 650 stalls from 25 states are put up in the above mela.
>The Handicraft stalls consist of Terracotta, Blue pottery, White metal, Brass idols, Wooden furniture, Madhubani paintings, Patachitra paintings, Tanjore paintings, Pearls jewellery, Kondapalli toys, Mysore crafts, Dry flowers & Carpets etc.
>The Handloom stalls consist of Mangalagiri, Venkatagiri, Gadwal, Patola, Puna silk, Tie & Die, Pulkari, Kota, Tussar, Kantha sarees, Bagh print, Chenderi, Maheshwari, Hand embroidery sarees, Kalamkari handlooms & Kashmiri Shawls.
>During the above mela classical based cultural programmes such as Vocal, Instrumental & Dance performances will be conducted by eminent artists during evenings.
>Folk art forms such as Dappulu, Garagalu, Veera Natyam, Chindu Yakshaganam, Thappatagullu, Kolatam & Pagati Veshalu etc., will be conducted by eminent Folk artists during evenings.
